ProGrads International is a student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children living in shelters and underserved communities around the world. Founded on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential, we work to create meaningful impact through education, mentorship, and human connection.
We believe that talent, ambition, and potential exist everywhere, but opportunity does not. Many of the children we meet face challenges beyond their control, often lacking access to the resources, support systems, and encouragement needed to pursue their goals. Our mission is to help bridge that gap by providing educational materials, STEM resources, mentorship, and experiences that inspire confidence and personal growth.
Through shelter visits, hands-on activities, one-on-one conversations, and continued engagement, we strive to create opportunities that help children discover new interests, develop important skills, and believe in what is possible for their future. While resources are important, we believe that lasting impact comes from the relationships we build and the encouragement we provide along the way.

Who We Are
ProGrads International is a student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children living in shelters, orphanages, and underserved communities around the world.
Founded by Sana Kalra and supported by her family, ProGrads was created from a simple belief: every child deserves access to opportunity, encouragement, and someone who believes in them. Through educational resources, mentorship, STEM activities, creative programs, and meaningful one-on-one interactions, we work to help children build confidence and discover their potential.
Unlike many organizations that operate from a distance, ProGrads focuses on direct engagement. We visit shelters and children's homes, spend time with the children we serve, listen to their stories, and follow up to better understand the lasting impact of our visits.
From Jamaica and India to China, Mexico, Portugal, and the United States, our goal remains the same: to help children feel seen, supported, and empowered to pursue brighter futures.
At its core, ProGrads is about people. It's about showing children that their circumstances do not define them, their dreams matter, and they are capable of achieving far more than they may believe.
Our work is built on three pillars: Education, Mentorship, and Human Connection. Together, they create opportunities that help children build confidence, discover their potential, and imagine brighter futures.
